PRACTICAL GUIDE

How handicap works in tennis.

The line is added to the selected player's result. It can apply to sets or to the match's total games.

Set handicap

A player with a −1.5 set handicap must win by a two-set margin. In a best-of-three match, they normally need to win 2-0. If they win 2-1, they win the match but lose the handicap.

Game handicap

All the games in the match are added up. With a +3.5 game handicap, the selected player can lose the match and still cover the line if their game difference, after adding 3.5, exceeds the opponent's.

Main entry and protection

Deep Tennis AI can split a more demanding entry, such as a −1.5 set handicap, from a protection on the match winner. Stake, odds and result are shown separately for each entry.
